All Elite Wrestling star Maxwell Jacob Friedman said he plans to take on more acting roles after his appearance in Happy Gilmore 2.
Friedman, 29, who played Gilmore's eldest son, Gordie, in the revamp film released last Friday (July 27), was asked by TMZ Sports if he would be acting more often in the future.
“Absolutely. I’m taking acting just as seriously as I do professional wrestling. I’m very excited about it,” Friedman said while continuing to walk with his Happy Gilmore 2 co-stars.
The Long Island native gushed about working with Sandler, claiming he was "really like a father to me at this point" as he "grew up looking up to him and idolizing him as a kid."
Sandler and co-star Julie Bowen, who played Gilmore's wife, Virginia Venit, in both Happy Gilmore films, praised Friedman while promoting the sequel.
"That kid is jacked and he's a stud, and I'm happy to say he's my fake son. I love my fake son," Sandler said during an interview with entertainment and pro wrestling reporter Chris Van Vliet.
Friedman, a former AEW World Champion, won the Men's Casino Gauntlet match at All In: Texas to earn a contract for a match at any time for the title, which is currently being held by 'Hangman' Adam Page.
