Sara Hughes, a 29-year-old athlete from Costa Mesa, California, is making strides in her career as a professional beach volleyball player. Standing at 5'10", Hughes is a notable figure in the sport, having made a name for herself through her impressive performances and dedication to the game.

Hughes' journey in volleyball began at a young age. She was a four-year letterwinner at Mater Dei High School, where she played as a setter and right side hitter. Her talent was recognized early on, earning her first-team all-league honors three times. In 2012, she was named the All-Orange County Player of the Year and was selected for the Volleyball Magazine High School All-American second team.

Hughes continued her volleyball career at the University of Southern California, where she became the first high school player to declare that she would play sand volleyball exclusively in college. During her time at USC, she won the AVCA National Championship twice, once with partner Kirby Burnham and once with Kelly Claes. Hughes was named AVCA All-American three times during her collegiate career.
