Silver Lake Park in Dover is closed after officials say a wastewater main broke at the park. City officials said they were notified around 1 p.m. yesterday that the Kent County Wastewater Force Main broke in the park. Due to the break and associated sanitary sewer overflow, emergency responders said the park will be closed until further notice. County crews, along with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control hazmat team, responded to the site to repair the damage. The city is asking residents to stay out of the park until it is reopened.
