(Dover, DE) -- Although it's late in the flu season, state health officials say the number of confirmed cases of influenza remains high. There have been 5,854 laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus in Delaware during the current flu season, 20 of them proving fatal. Even with the elevated numbers, there are still fewer cases in the First State than there were at this time last year.
